WASP demo
- BSN platform tutorial.
A BSN platform tutorial was organized in conjunction with the BSN 2010 conference in Singapore Biopolis on June 9 2010. Ten people from different organizations and countries attended the tutorial. The attendees are all from all different backgrounds, such as Professors in Computer science from Singapore, researchers from a pharmaceutical company from the UK, an engineer from a US military equipment supplier, etc. During the tutorial, the concept of the BSN and the associated technologies were introduced, and followed by a series of hands-on sections demonstrating how to use the BSN development kits to build pervasive sensing applications. After showing the attendees the low level development techniques in BSN, the WASP project and the associated development tools and technologies were introduced in the last section of the tutorial. In addition, using the test-beds as the examples, the attendees were shown how the WASP technologies can be applied in real scenarios. In general, the attendees found the WASP project very interesting and would like to learn more about its development tools and its test-beds outcomes.- [ PPT ]
WASP development handbook
- This development handbook describes the different steps needed for developing large sensor node ensembles using the WASP nodes and WASP techniques. On the basis of the different WASP layers (platform, protocols, services), this WASP “cookbook” will describe the use of the WASP technologies and services and will give guidelines for adapting the WASP results towards new applications. The WASP development handbook will enable third parties to accomplish the various steps needed for developing and adapting a WASP wireless sensor network. Having these guidelines – together with WASP solutions made publicly available through the public SVN repository – the use of WASP project results beyond project runtime is enabled. The WASP development handbook has been used and revised within the project and, hence, served as internal training material e.g. when developing the final elderly care test bed demonstrators.
